28#. Shooting in log profile preserves a huge amount of data. If you shoot in non log profile and convert it with a lut , be it logarithmic, you recover non of the data lost in during the shooting. If the image was over sharpened in the camera this Lut also does nothing to combat it. Converting to this quasi Log > profile only serves one purpose.
The whole purpose of its existence was to enable the 5D mkII to integrate better with professional workflows (including scanned Film as it were) when used as a B or crash cam at the peak of the 5D fever.
